Booking a newborn session can come with a lot of questions—especially when it comes to what you need to bring. Do I provide the wraps? What if you have a special blanket you want to use? Can you bring a headband you bought just for this moment?
In this post, I’ll break down what I provide for your newborn photo session and what you’re welcome (but not required) to bring along.
What I Provide
As a professional newborn photographer in Anderson, Indiana, I take care of most of the details so you can relax and enjoy the experience. Here’s what I include in every session:
Props & Accessories
These are carefully curated to create timeless, cozy setups for your baby. When booking your session, I have you fill out a questionnaire that helps me style your session. You are welcome to suggest themes or props that you have seen in the past.
Wraps & Outfits
I have a plethora of colors to choose from. Feel free to be specific about your colors if you are because there’s a chance I have the color you are looking for. 😉
Tried-and-True Poses
I’m trained in safe newborn posing and work slowly and gently to capture sweet, sleepy images. From womb-like wraps to dreamy poses on a soft, table I’ll guide your baby through setups designed for both safety and style.
What You Should Bring
Here are a few things you might want to bring to make the session smoother or more personal:
Essentials for Baby
Even if your baby rarely takes a pacifier, it can be a lifesaver during posing. Sucking is comforting for baby, especially in a different environment.
Sentimental Items (Optional)
I love incorporating these pieces to make your session feel unique and personal to your family.
Parent & Sibling Clothing
If family or sibling photos are included, wear soft, neutral tones that photograph well and won’t distract from baby. Think ivory, beige, soft gray, or pale pastels.
I’ve designed my studio and sessions to be low-stress and high-comfort. Everything you need is already here—but if you have something meaningful you’d love to include, I’m always happy to work it in.
Still have questions about what to bring? I’m just a message away and happy to guide you through every step!
My home studio is located in Anderson, Indiana about 30 minutes from Muncie, Fishers and Noblesville.
