There are so many talented photographers around Indiana! How do you choose one? Here are some things to consider:
  • Safety: not all photographers are accustomed to newborn photography and may not know about posing babies safely. Many newborn photographers, like myself, have taken posing safety courses to make sure we take the best care of your newborn. We know to monitor baby's circulation and temperature. We know that some poses must be a composite. When it comes to your precious baby it is important to hire someone with safety and knowledge as it should be any newborn photographers' number one priority.
  • Style: Over the years, photographers develop their own editing style. Be sure to review my portfolio to make sure that my style of editing is in line with your own vision for your photos.
  • Price: Hiring a photographer is an investment. Be sure to review package options and pricing to figure out the best option for you. You won't get those first few months back and having quality photos to look back on is a great way to preserve that time with your baby.
I bet you have already heard that your pregnancy is going to fly by and your little sweet pea will be here before you know it! They aren't wrong. Those 40 weeks fly by and before you know it your baby that you watched wiggle and dance in those ultrasounds is here! If you are considering newborn photos you may be wondering when you should be scheduling them. You might even wonder if they're worth it. Can't you just DIY them?

When should you schedule your photos?

How does the booking process work?

I already had my baby. Can I still book a session?

I recommend scheduling your session in your second trimester. I have a limited number of session that I do each month and this helps ensure that I have dates/times available. The best time for newborn photos is within the first 14 days of life. This is because your baby is still very flexible and sleepy after their journey into this world. I like to book a week or two after your due date. This is tentative of course. If your baby comes sooner we can move the date up. If your baby has not come by your due date then we'll push the date out farther.

Once you are ready to book you can fill out my contact form. I will send you back dates/times available. Once you have selected your date I will send you a contract to review and sign. I also send a questionnaire that helps me style your session. A non-refundable retainer of $75 is due in order to secure your spot on my calendar.

Yes! Send me a message and I can check my availability. Keep in mind the older your baby gets the more alert they become

Newborn sessions take place in my home studio. I have a plethora of props, wraps, headbands and outfits to style your session. An online, soft-proofed gallery will be sent to you after the session so that you can choose your photos. Final photos will be delivered via an online gallery where you can download your photos. Additional photos can be purchased. I also offer a 25% discount if you choose to buy the entire gallery.
